Bigfoot is now safe
Bigfoot has found a safe place to live.
I camped outside of the little town of Marion, NC for the last three months. Believe me, there is absolutely nothing going on in that little town, but last week the town made national news.
The Marion town council officially adopted Bigfoot as the town mascot
I guess that means he can live in the area. He'll be safe there. There are no hurricanes, no tornados, and no earthquakes in the area. The only thing that could be considered dangerous in the area are the black bears. I've seen plenty of them and some of them get pretty big, but they are not nearly the size of Bigfoot, so they wouldn't dare bother him. In other words, he is safe in the area.

Who knows, he may be marching in the parade this year. Why not, he's the most famous citizen of the area. Letting him march in the parade is fine with me, but I wouldn't want to see him running for mayor.
I guess it no longer concerns me since I'm not camping near the area now. The summer heat got too hot for me there, so I left about three weeks ago and went further up in the mountains to where it's cooler.
I'm camping just below 4,000 feet near Banner Elk, NC now. The high temperature here has usually been about 70 degrees even though it's mid-August. I think that's too cold for Big Foot.
If it gets much colder, I think it will be too cold for me. I'll move down the mountain when it gets colder. I would like to stay here through late September and early October because the leaves are so pretty then, but I might not make it. I've learned that they do get snow around here starting in mid-October.
Oh well, my house has wheels. I'll be in Florida for the winter, but I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to head to Florida.
Bottom line: I just wanted to let everyone know that Bigfoot has found a home and that he is going to be safe from now on. He travels around a lot. Recently he has been seen in New Jersey, and in California, but it's good to know that he now has an official home base.
