Small Towns and Unique Signs

In small towns, you'll find that sometimes the signs tell it like it is.

They don't beat around the bush.

For example, if you're looking for some smoked mullet, and you also want to pick up some fine art, you can get both at one stop at this place.

How many times have you wanted to pick up some fine art and also some smoked mullet for supper, but didn't want to stop at two different places? I'm sure you run into this problem all the time.

Here's another example

The sign in front of Bonish Studios (shown below) in Cedar Key, FL makes it clear. If you want to buy or look at some art (paintings and photos), want to have a glass of wine, or buy some ammunition for your 9 mm pistol or for your deer hunting rifle, you have come to the right place.

Here's one more example

This is not a sign, but a headline from an article in a newspaper in Mississippi.

Small Towns and Unique Signs

Obviously, things haven't improved much if they can't spell "Mississippi" correctly.

If they can't spell their own state correctly, I don't think they're making much progress. Of course, maybe they got it closer to correct this time than they did the last time.

After all, the headline didn't say they were perfect. It just said that they were showing improvement.

Bottom line: How many times have you seen an interesting sign and later wished you had taken a picture of it? Don't let that happen to you again. The next time you see an unusual sign, whip out your phone and make a picture of it. Telling somebody about an unusual sign just doesn't do the job like actually showing them a picture of the sign. If you find an interesting sign, take a picture of it and post it in the Discussion Forum. We would all like to see it.
