Buy a used RV for less than a downpayment on a new one
What's keeping you from getting on the road in your RV?
Oh wait, you don't have an RV yet? That's one thing that could be keeping you from hitting the road. That minor fact gets in the way of a lot of people hitting the road, but that's an easy problem to fix.
Reasons or excuses?
People who are dreaming of living the RVing life, but haven't taken the plunge yet are being held back by a lot of excuses. Not a lot of real reasons--just excuses. Or maybe I should say a lot of fears. There's usually no real, legitimate reason they can't hit the road right now. They're a lot of excuses, but probably no valid reasons.
Some people are waiting for their house to sell or are waiting to save up for a downpayment on their new dream RV before the can hit the road.
These might sound like valid reasons to not start RVing yet, but maybe not. First, your house might sell faster and for more money, if you're not living in it.
Next, as I've said over and over. Do NOT buy a new RV as your first RV. No way. Instead of saving up for a downpayment on a new RV, consider using the money you have for a downpayment and buy a used (maybe a very used) RV. For example, something like the one below that you can pull with the vehicle you have.
Instead of saving for a downpayment
If you buy a very used RV at a good price and fix it up some, there's a good chance that you can sell it for more than you paid for it.
Bottom line: The price you pay for your RV has absolutely nothing to do with how much fun you can have living the RVing lifestyle. Quit making excuses. Make a decision, hit the road and work things out later.
