Breath In, Breath Out, Move On

Breath In, Breath Out, Move On

Jimmy Buffett's song, Breath In, Breath Out, Move On has some great advice for us RVers.

The song starts out with these words.

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man.

Floating down canal.

It doesn't use numbers or moving hands.

It always just says now.

Now you may be thinking that I was had.

But this watch is never wrong.

And if I have trouble, the warranty said,

Breath In, Breath Out, Move On

There's a lot of wisdom in these words for us RVers.

If you want to listen to the song, here it is. Breathe In, Breath Out, Move On

You'll experience a lot of stressful situations when you're living the RV life--probably more than in your present life--maybe not.

How stressful a situation is will depend on how you deal with it.

If you follow the advice in this song, you'll never get stressed out. Somehow, it seems to be a lot easier to take this attitude when you're living the RV lifestyle than when you're in a stick-and-brick house.

I've found that most full-time RVers are relaxed and laid back. When I see an RVer that seems to be upset, stressed out, or frustrated, I find out that they're camping for a weekend or a few days.

When time is not an issue

When you're trying to have too much fun in a short amount of time, it's almost inevitable that some things are going to go wrong.

One of the main reasons full-time RVers are not stressed out is that they no longer have to pay attention to time. If it doesn't get done today, there's always tomorrow.

Often, RVers can't even tell you what day it is, and they sure don't know what time it is. So having a watch with no hands that just says, "Now" is the perfect watch for them. I don't even wear a watch.

Whether you're walking on a beach, hiking on a mountain trail, or just going on a walk down the sidewalk, forget about time and enjoy the moment.

Bottom line: Whether you're living in an RV or not, if you remember to Breath In, Breathe Out, Move On, you'll find that life is a lot less stressful. Try it.
