Are you happy with your life?
If I were any happier, somebody should investigate me.
It's hard not to be happy when I'm spending some of my time camped on the beach, some in the cool North Carolina mountains in the summertime, and a few months in paradise here in Costa Rica.
And, spending a few months in Costa Rica is way less expensive than staying in a campground.
The picture at the top of this page is where I had lunch in Grecia, Costa Rica, earlier this week. The dining areas are outside, and the tables are scattered around in a large tropical garden.
Some old Volkswagen Beetles are mingled around in the area to make it even more unique. I know that nothing can be more unique (I can see my English teacher pointing her finger at me now), but having old Volkswagens in a tropical garden gets close to being more unique.
Can you see a Volkswagen in the picture?
Look closely at the picture above, and see if you can find a yellow Volkswagen.
Below is another picture taken at the same restaurant. A different Volkswagen is easier to see in this shot.
The price of my lunch was $5.00, and that included the tip and the tax.
The price shown on the menu at restaurants in Costa Rica includes the tax and a 10% tip. Local Ticos don't tip any extra, but most Gringos will add an additional 5% to 10%. That's why waiters and waitresses love Gringos.
(By the way, Ticos are the locals, and Gringos are people from the US and Canada; neither term is considered derogatory.)
To make my dining experience even better, the portions were so large that I brought half of my meal home for lunch the next day.
I'm really happy with my life
If I weren't, I would change something about it. I would go somewhere different, spend time with other people, or do something more fun or more interesting.
This past winter, I enjoyed walking on the beach in Galveston, TX. (I may go to Florida this coming winter. I haven't decided yet.) And, I enjoyed hiking to waterfalls in the North Carolina mountains. And for sure, I'm enjoying my four months here in paradise.
Bottom line: Maybe wanting to do something different is why I move to another place every few months. Some RVers like to move every few weeks or even every few days. I like to stay in one place for a few months, and then I'm ready to move.
There's no right way to RV. You can do whatever makes you happy. Maybe that's why the RV lifestyle appeals to so many people.
