Freedom's just another word for . . .
Janis Joplin's #1 hit Me and Bobby McGee (written by Kris Kristofferson) starts off with the words, "Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose."
Maybe that describes some RVers, but not many.
Some people look at all RVs this way. I'm sure there are some people who are down on their luck and without options, but most RVers live their lives of RVing and freedom because they choose to.
Just thinking about RVing can be scary
For a lot of people, it's more than a little bit scary to think about selling their house and almost everything they own to start living a life that's totally foreign to anything they've ever experienced. The unknowns are staggering. There's no end to the "What if" questions that constantly pop into their minds.
Experiencing total freedom
Most RVers embrace the freedom they are experiencing. For most of them, it's the first time in their lives they've been able to experience total freedom.
If they want to go to Alaska, Mexico, the Florida Keys, or a remote place in the Appalachian Mountains, they're free to do it, and they are free to stay until they're ready to go somewhere else.
Of course, to be able to live this lifestyle (without using up all your savings), you have to have a source of income. It doesn't take much income because you have your living expenses down to an extremely low amount.
Earning enough money to support yourself while living on the road is entirely doable, and there are plenty of books and videos that tell you how other RVers are earning the money to live this lifestyle, but for now, take my word for it. It can easily be done, and you can do it.
Is RVing and freedom right for you?
The question is, do you want to live in an RV and experience total freedom? A lot of people talk about wanting to do this, and they dream about doing it someday, but for them, someday never comes.
Phil and Stacy have a popular YouTube channel, You, Me, and the RV. Their slogan is, "Today is someday." Today could be your "someday."
It's up to you to decide to make it happen or just keep talking about it. The timing will never be just right.
Bottom line: After you experience the total freedom of the RV life, it's almost impossible to give it up and go back to living a conventional life.
