RVing and the Coronavirus

RVing and the Coronavirus

As the picture implies, the whole world is concerned about the Coronavirus.

As RVers, maybe we're a little safer than the average person. We're not in close proximity to a lot of people, but we still need to take reasonable precautions.

I've heard that the North Carolina moonshiners have started making hand sanitizer instead of moonshine. They say it's a lot more profitable.

I don't know if that's true because I'm not in NC right now. I'm in Costa Rica and will be until the first of June. Hopefully, it will be safe to fly and to pass through the Atlanta airport by then.

On the bright side, I have a friend who is an airline stewardess. She flies every day, and sometimes she flies four flights a day. Come to think of it. I haven't heard anything on the news about any flight attendant getting the virus. I'm sure they're well trained about washing their hands and not touching their eyes, nose, or mouth without thoroughly washing their hands first.

I use a free app called Mobdro with my Amazon Firestick, and I get all the US cable news and network TV programs. I get the local news channels too, but my Spanish is not good enough for me to understand much of what they're saying.

So far, the people here don't seem to be as concerned. The stores still have toilet paper and hand sanitizer in stock. I haven't changed much of what I'm doing. I'm not in a town, and I'm not around a lot of people. I'm up in the mountains.

I used to ride the bus into town about every week or so, but now I just catch a ride with someone and skip riding the bus.

Being this isolated is an excellent time to be productive and get a lot of writing done. As you might expect, I'm working on another book that will be out soon.

Bottom line: The RVing life has advantages we had not even thought about until recently. Be reasonably cautious, stay away from crowds, and enjoy the RVing lifestyle.
