Life is Short, and so is Money

Does the picture of this old abandoned car somewhat describe the way you see or think about yourself?

Yes, the car looks pretty rough, but look closely, and you can see that the chrome doesn't have any rusty spots, there are no dents, and even the color doesn't seem to have any spots or discolorations.

Give it a good wash job and then treat it to a professional polishing job, and it might look better and be worth more than it was when it was new.

I don't know what kind of condition the inside is in. Maybe there are problems with the engine or transmission. Just like you, maybe your parts are not as functional as they once were (knee problems, hip problems, diabetes, heart problems, etc.), but if you take it slow and don't push too hard, I bet you have a lot of miles left in you. Consider this. . .

Is your vision stronger than your excuses?

You could change your perspective and think about yourself as if you're the person in the picture below--sitting on the beach with your fishing pole enjoying your day and your life. Don't think of yourself like you're the old car that's been discarded.

This could be you sitting on the beach with no worries.
This could be you sitting on the beach with no worries.

My grandmother said that people are down on what they're not up on. In other words, they are against things and ideas that they don't know anything about.

That's not a bad approach to life, but the bad part is that many people are unwilling to learn about new things, take chances or do things they've never done before. Don't let that be you.

Bottom line: When you look at your life and where you stand at this time, remember these two pictures and think about where and how you see yourself. As the title says, "Life is short, and so is money." Make the most of your life and your money.
