Abandon your cubicle to live in an RV?
Abandoning your cubicle for a life of traveling and living in an RV can be as challenging as riding off into the sunset.
The thought of abandoning their familiar cubicle is enough to unnerve many people. It can be scary because it involves a lot of unknowns.
For the last two winters, I've been cranking up my motorhome and riding off into the sunset going west to Galveston, Texas, but this year I'll be going to Florida. With the high price of gas, it's a lot less expensive to go south to Florida. I'll be in a different campground than the one I used to stay at, but I'll still be in Cedar Key, Florida.
By the time you read this, I'll already be on my way. I'll be leaving the NC mountains on Friday, Oct. 14th. I'm going to take several days to make the trip. I'll stop to visit some cousins, and then I'll stop and spend a couple of days with my brother on the way.
I'm in no real hurry to get to Florida. I want to get out of the mountains before it gets colder. Last year I waited until early November to leave, and the morning I left, my sewer hose was frozen solid. I had to heat water on the stove and pour it on the hose before folding it up and putting it in the bin where I store it.
I don't want to do that again. My old bones don't like cold weather.
Bottom line: Are you thinking about abandoning the cubicle, getting an RV, and riding off into the sunset? Or maybe you already have an RV, and you're considering whether to take the plunge and live in it full-time. It seems like it's never the perfect time to make a big decision and ride off into the sunset.
