Every RVer has a story

If you're wondering what this picture of Air Force One has to do with this article and with RVing, keep reading.

If you take the time to get to know your fellow RVers, you'll find that most of them have some interesting stories to tell.

Stories about what they've done, why, how, and when they decided to live in an RV--part-time or full-time.

RVers are decision-makers. If they had not made a decision to do something different, they would still be sitting on the couch with the remote control. In other words, they're movers and shakers.

What projects are you working on?

I like to ask this question when I'm talking to people. Sometimes I get a blank stare, and they don't seem t know what I'm talking about, but almost everyone has one or more projects they're working on.

Maybe they're doing some kind of repair or modification on their RV, or they're trying to sell a house, or they're getting ready to go on a trip. A lot of people have more than one project they're working on. Usually, people perk up when you ask about their projects.

Occasionally, I come across someone who is not working on a project, but not often. They may not call it a project, but they have something that's consuming their time.

Not all projects are fun

Most of the time, it's a fun or interesting project, but sometimes they're working on what could be called a problem--something they're looking forward to being finished with, such as working on their taxes.

RVers have interesting stories

The RVers in your campground have more interesting stories than you can imagine. I talked to an RVer a while back who was one of the pilots of Air Force One. He had all kinds of interesting stories. Of course, the stories he had to tell never made it to the evening news.

A final comment: In last week's article, I said I was going to change one word in the subtitle of one of the books. Here's what I changed. I changed the last word in the "You Only Get Old Once" book from "Retirement" to "Retiring." I wanted to get both words in the subtitle, and I had already used "Retirement."
