Life in the slow lane

Living in an RV can be "life in the slow lane," but it won't happen automatically.

For a lot of new RVers, it's just the opposite. They are busier than ever, trying to see everything and go everywhere.

After living full-time in my RV for almost a dozen years, I've settled into a slow pace. I don't have any place I have to be or anything I have to do. I'm free as a bird. It's a wonderful feeling.

In my opinion, it's the way the RV life should be, but when I look around the campground, I see a mixture of different types of RVers. Some are in the slow lane with me, and some are in the fast lane.

When an RVer pulls into the campground, I can usually tell pretty quickly which category they fit into. Some RVers get stressed out just backing their RV into their campsite and getting it set up.

Getting an RV settled into a campsite, and connecting everything after a long day of driving, can be tiring, and sometimes even a little frustrating, but it's part of what you signed up for when you decided to become an RVer. Don't sweat it. Just get it done and move on.

Bottom line: When you're living the RV lifestyle (whether it's full-time or for the weekend), try life in the slow lane. Relax, and enjoy the adventure.
