Conventional wisdom doesn't work when it comes to writing a book.
If it did, you would probably have already written your book.
Book writing techniques that go against conventional wisdom
- Don't start by trying to write the first chapter.
- Start writing on the chapter you're most passionate about. But, even then, you shouldn't start by trying to write the first sentence of that chapter. Start by writing somewhere in the middle of the chapter about the part you're most passionate about.
- Find the keywords your potential readers will be searching for when they're interested in the topic of your book. In the book, I show you the software tool that will find these words for you.
- Write your title and subtitle before you start writing your book.
- Have a cover designed before you start writing. This will keep you motivated to finish your book. I've never known anyone to have a cover designed and then not finish writing their book.
