Travel is good for the soul

We all like to travel.

Whether you RV full-time or part-time, you have the opportunity to travel and see the country.

And to make things even better, if you're RVing full-time, you can park your RV and travel to another part of the world. International travel is a lot less expensive when you're not paying for a house or any living expenses back home.

This is so true.

This is so true.

Mark Twain said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness . . ."

When you see and experience other parts of the world or even other parts of your own country, it opens your eyes.

When you travel, you sometimes get the same feeling Dorthy was experiencing when she told Toto, "I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."

It's so important for children to travel. Their world is what they have seen, and when I was a kid, I had not seen much.

Kids need to experience the ordinary things in other areas

When I was a kid growing up in the hills of Tennesee, I had never seen a pine tree. For the life of me, I had no idea where telephone poles and power poles came from. They couldn't be made out of the oak trees I grew up with.

Likewise, in Western movies, I would see a cowboy get a shovel, dig a hole, and bury someone who had been shot. Everyone knew you couldn't dig a hole with a shovel—not in the hard, red clay soil I had grown up with. I had never seen sandy soil. It was hard enough to dig a hole with a pick-axe.

I'm still in Costa Rica until July and enjoying experiencing the people and culture.

Bottom line Have you made your travel plans yet for this summer? Maybe you don't need any plans; just travel and see and experience things.
