Do you have a favorite place to read?

Where is your favorite place to read?

It has to be away from the TV and family distractions. And of course, it needs to be a comfortable place.

The woman in the picture above appears relaxed, but I don't think she would be comfortable there for long.

She would be more comfortable if she were to swap places with the black dog in the chair. If she pulled the chair up closer to the window so she could prop her feet up on the windowsill, it would be even better.

Charlie Jones was a writer and motivational speaker. He has sold over two million books in 12 different languages. His mission in life was to help people change their lives through reading. Below is one of his famous quotes that I like.

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today, except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

~ Charlie Jones

Cost of books is not the problem—it's the time to read them

With most eBooks being offered for free for a few days when they're first published, and many others priced at only 99 cents (or even at the typical list price of $3.99), you can find more great books for free (or almost free) than you'll ever have time to read.

So, it's not the cost of buying books, but finding the time to read them that prevents most people from reading more books. And of course, the library is full of books—you just need more reading time.

I know the feeling. I have several books I've downloaded (some free, and some I paid for) that I haven't read yet.

At night time, it's easy to chill out, collapse, turn on the TV, and not have to think anymore for the rest of the evening.

Another way to consume more books is to listen to audiobooks. You can do that while you're driving to and from work, while you're on the treadmill, or while you're mowing the grass.

Here's the important thing to take away from this article: Charlie Jones' famous quote, "You will be the same person in five years as you are today, except for the people you meet and the books you read." Stop and think about that quote.
