If you can write an email, you can write a book

You don't have to be a good writer to write a book.

Famous author, Flannery O'Connor said, "There's many a best seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher."

What she is saying is that many of the best-selling books are bad and writers should not have published them.

How many English teachers do you know who have ever written a book?

They know all the rules. Why don't they write the books? Obviously, not knowing how to write is not the problem.

I never made a grade above a "C" in a college English class in my life, and I've written 35 books. Some of them have been best sellers.

My first book has earned me over $70,000, and my second book has earned me over $50,000. I wrote these books ten years ago, and both books are still making me money.

Warren Buffett said, "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you'll work until you die."

Having a book published and listed on Amazon is one of the best ways I know to make money while you sleep.

The famous writer, Tom Clancy, said, "Tell the damn story." That's what I do. Then it's my proofreader's job to make my book sound like I'm a good writer.

Never getting started or never getting finished

A lot of people say they want to write a book. They secretly dream of someday writing a book, but they never get started. It's never the right time.

Writer's Digest magazine reported that 81% of Americans think they should write a book, but only 2% have a completed manuscript. And very few of the 2% have published their books.

A lot of aspiring authors begin a book but never complete it. Maybe they have a first draft, but it's never quite good enough. It still needs some work.

No book is ever perfect. Eventually, you have to stop tweaking it and publish it, and then write your next book. Your book doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be finished and published. You can always make changes to your book after it's published.

If you like audiobooks, you can get the audiobook for free. Just send me an email at [email protected], and I'll send you a coupon that will allow you to download it from Amazon at no charge.

(Note: the audiobook is the original version recorded four years ago, and some of the information is not up to date.) The eBook and printed versions were updated this week.

One last point After getting the book, I would really appreciate it if you would post a review on Amazon. I have 95 reviews, and I'm hoping to get to 100 reviews by the end of next week. You don't have to read the entire book before posting your review. Read a chapter or two and then post your review. If you post a review, I'll be eternally grateful, or at least, I'll be grateful for a long, long time. I read every review.

Bottom line: Start writing your book today. I don't know anyone who has written a book and regretted writing it, but I know a lot of people who regret that they never got around to writing a book.
