My motorhome parked next to a river in North Carolina
Down by the river
Camping beside a river is almost heaven.
People used to think that living in a van down by the river was only one step above living under a bridge, but now more people are seeing it as the perfect place to be.
Here's another one of my favorite places to camp
In the picture below, I'm camped at Curtis Creek Campground near Old Fort, North Carolina. It's right off I-40, not far from Asheville. You can't see the creek in the picture, but it's right beside the RV.The creek is stocked with trout, and the sound of the creek at night makes for great sleeping. There are only a few bad things about this camping site. You can only stay there for 14 days, there's no electricity, and there's no running water to connect to.

Here's one more of my favorite places to camp
In the picture below, I'm backed up to the beach in Galveston, Texas. I camped here for three months, and I liked it so much that I went back the next year and camped for three months again. This picture was taken at sunrise on Thanksgiving Day during COVID.
