Find your happy place

Find your happy place

Are you bored?

Do you wish there was more excitement in your world?

We've all heard the old saying, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got." That statement is so true.

Another popular saying along those lines is,

"If you want your dreams to come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up."

If you're bored, moving to a different place might eliminate your boredom temporarily, but it won't fix your problem long-term. What has to change is you.

Don't dabble in mediocrity. Go for what will make you truly happy.

What do you need to do to be happy:

  • Move to another location?

  • Change jobs?

  • Travel more?

  • Make changes in your personal life or relationships?

  • Retire?

  • Sell a business or start a new business?

  • Get away from negative people?

  • Change some of the people you spend time with? (This may be more important than you realize. Give it some serious thought.) Remember the saying that some people make things happen, some watch things happen, and some wonder what happened. To be happy, you need to be around people who are active, happy, and making things happen.

By all means, don't spend any time with negative people. They will drain the life out of you.

If you're bored and unhappy, make the decision to change your life.

Change is not easy. I know; I have just spent the last six months getting rid of everything I own and moving to another country. It's easier to keep doing what you've been doing, but is the life you're living now making you happy?

One last point

Hopefully, you're happy with your life just the way it is, and you're doing exactly what you want to do. If that's the case, great. All I'm suggesting is that you honestly look at your situation and decide if changing some things in your life would make you happier.

Bottom line: Stop and consider what would really make you happy. Then, (if necessary) take steps to make it happen. Make a list of what you need to do to be truly happy, and then start taking those steps.

Ask yourself, "Where do I want to be, and what do I want to be doing this time next year?" You can make it a reality, but you have to start now, and you may have to make some changes.
