Is this how you picture paradise?

Big reason to avoid paradise

You might wish you could go to paradise and never come back, but be careful what you wish for.

The chance to go to paradise is almost everyone's dream. What could be better?

Can you imagine palm trees, beautiful beaches, and a wonderful, peaceful place to be. But I wouldn't recommend it in Costa Rica.

Why you shouldn't seek paradise in Costa Rica

I live in Costa Rica. It's nice here, but I put a lot of effort into making sure I don't go to paradise. The reason is simple. Paradise is the name of a popular funeral home.

Maybe they think you can pass through their doors to get to paradise, but I'm not sure everyone who passes through their doors ends up in paradise.

Let's move on to another topic.

Vacationing somewhere vs. living there

There's an enormous difference between being on vacation somewhere and living there. When you're on vacation, you're trying to see everything and do everything in the short time you have there.

Many people go somewhere on vacation and then quickly decide they want to live there.

When you live somewhere, you get to take your time. After all, you and everything will still be there tomorrow and even next month. There's no hurry.

Here's one of the many reasons I love living in Costa Rica

Hiking through the jungles and dense vegetation, and seeing and listening to the many beautiful birds, gives me a nice dopamine-enhanced hit of creativity, which I use to power my writing session.

Bottom line: I love living in what many people consider to be paradise, but I don't want to go to where a lot of the locals call paradise—a funeral home.
