Camping with plenty of room

The picture above is where I camped two years ago near Banner Elk, NC.

There's no campsite on the left side and plenty of space on the right side.

I can tell that the picture was taken two years ago because I don't have that car anymore.

You can't tell from the picture, but the tree at the back of the motorhome is an apple tree. There are several apple trees in this campground. The river is right behind the motorhome. The roar of it makes for great sleeping at night.

I think we all have camped in campsites we love.

Some of the things that make me fall in love with a campsite are:

  • The view. Views of mountains, a lake, or a river are my favorite views.

  • Not being too close to another RV is a big plus.

  • I like campsites that are easy to back into.

  • It's always nice when everything works.

  • Having nice neighbors is nice.

While looking through my file of pictures to find some examples of my favorite campsites, I noticed that most of the pictures of campsites that were not crowded were in the North Carolina mountains.

But here is a picture of a campsite I like that's not in the North Carolina mountains. It's in the Anastasia State Park in Florida. Each campsite in the park has a lot of space.

In a lot of state parks, each campsite has a lot of room, but that's not the case in most commercial campgrounds.

Bottom line: I enjoy the RVing lifestyle, even when I'm camping in a Walmart parking lot, but having a beautiful view and not being too close to other RVs is just icing on the cake.
