How scary is it to totally change your life?
It's not as scary as most people imagine.
You've probably been living the same basic lifestyle for a long time, and you're thinking about making a change. After all, who wants just one kind of berry for breakfast? If you were not thinking about making a change, you probably wouldn't even be reading this article.
After all, variety is the spice of life
That's why people like to make changes and do different things. Sometimes they make a change for a short period and sometimes for more extended periods, and sometimes they decide to make a permanent change.
After two years of being stuck at home because of COVID, people realize that it's possible to work and make a living without being in an office every day. Because of this, many people are beginning to rethink how they want to live.
Becoming a digital nomad is something a lot of people are seriously considering these days.
Ten years ago, I traded in a traditional career to become a full-time digital nomad. At that time, the term "digital nomad" didn't even exist. At least, I had never heard it, but that's basically what I did. I became a digital nomad. I traveled around in my motorhome and made my living writing books and working on my computer.
I leveraged my skills in business and technology along with my passion for travel (and later my interest in writing) to build a new career as a writer.
For the last ten years, I've lived in my motorhome full-time and traveled around the US and Central America (mainly Costa Rica), making my living writing books.
I've also traveled to over two dozen foreign countries in all parts of the world (not in my motorhome, of course).
I write travel articles and books and talk about how changing your life is not as scary as it seems.
Even though I was an engineer in my previous life, my writing style is non-technical. I talk only about what's necessary to get the point across. There's no fluff in my writing. Okay, maybe there is a small amount of rambling, but I try to keep it to a minimum.
You could live in an RV and be a digital nomad, but there are other ways to do it
Living in an RV is a great way to be a digital nomad, but it's not the only way. You can also travel the world and live for short periods in different places, or go to one country and stay for a while.
Or you could live the way I do and put variety in your life by doing a mixture of all these things.
There are lots of ways to be a digital nomad. You may even be able to keep your same job working for your company, but do it while you travel. It may be more doable than you think. All you have to do to find out is to ask.
The takeaway from this article: If you've been thinking about doing something different in your life, there's never been a better time to do it. You have to do some research, make a decision, and then make it happen. You can always change your mind and add more variety by doing something different.
After all, we all like variety. Who wants just one kind of berry for breakfast?
