A book needs a cover that will grab attention.
I need your opinion
I need your opinion on which book cover to use.
I probably won't start writing my next book until I get to Costa Rica, but I always like to have a cover designed before I do any writing.
If you're even vaguely thinking about writing a book, I highly recommend that you have a working version of a cover designed before you start writing. Doing this will almost guarantee that your book will get written. I've never seen this technique fail.
An Example of What's in this Book
There are several good books about negotiating on Amazon. The best one brings in over $250K a month, while many others bring in $2K to $3K.
I don't want to just publish another book on the topic, so I'm approaching it from a different perspective.
True or not, many men think women change their minds at the drop of a hat for no real reason. Women can use this perception to their advantage in negotiations.
For example, near the end of a negotiation, when everything is about to be agreed to, a woman can say, "I'm getting nervous about this."
She didn't say she was going to back out, but a man may think he has to make a concession or do something to sweeten the pot, so she won't. A man saying this wouldn't have the same effect.
That's just one of the many negotiating techniques described in the book.
First Impressison
I would like the book cover to convey the impression that this is a confident woman and one you wouldn't want to negotiate against. Also, should the picture be smaller, and should I use a different picture?
Which of the two book covers shown below, do you like better?
A better question would be, which book cover would grab your attention and get you to click on it to learn more about the book?
After all, the purpose of a book cover is to get your attention.
It doesn't matter whether you like it or not, but does it grab your attention?
Here are the two covers I'm considering:
Note: I worked with Olivia on Fiverr.com (oliviaprodesign) to design these covers. She lives in Ukraine and charges $10 to design an eBook cover. I've used her services to design most of my recent book covers. Sometimes, I'll have her design three or four covers, and then I'll choose the one I want to use.
Bottom line: Send me an email at [email protected] and put "Black," "White," or "Other" in the Subject line to let me know if you think I should use the black cover, the white cover or should I scrap them both and go with a completely different cover design. Any other comments or recommendations you have would also be appreciated.
