These two people both had a short dash. We never know.
Living your dash
When you die, your tombstone will have the date you were born, a dash, and the date you died.
That dash is your life. That's where you are today. You're living your dash.
What is your dream life?
If you picked up a bottle on the beach, and a genie popped out and granted you one wish—to choose your ideal life. What life would you choose? You might not find a bottle with a genie, but you can accomplish most dreams without a genie's help. You just have to decide what your ideal life would be and then make changes to make it happen.
Start by writing a description of your ideal life, and each day, make a little progress towards achieving it. Then, enjoy the journey.
An unusual tombstone
While searching for an image of a tombstone for this article, I came across the picture of Lester Moore's tombstone. Somebody had a sense of humor.
Lester Moore ran a Wells Fargo office in AZ. One customer was unhappy because he received a damaged package, and he shot Lester.
By the way, old Lester got one shot off before he died and killed the guy who shot him.
A book to help you enjoy your dash
A few years ago, my RVing friend Lindsey McKenzie wrote the book. "Follow your Detour" describing how following her detour totally changed her life. It's a fascinating book about how she achieved her ideal life after everything she thought she wanted collapsed. I highly recommend it. You can find it on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/1733811346.Bottom line: You're living your dash now. The question is: are you living the happiest dash possible?
