RVing Tales From the Road

RVing Tales From the Road

If you're one of the many RVers who didn't do much traveling this past year, maybe you'll find my latest book, RVing Tales From the Road, interesting and enjoyable.

It talks about what I've experienced when I stop in small towns, interesting people I've met in my travels, and in general, stories about life on the road as an RVer.

I've spent the last week and a half in the North Carolina mountains. I flew from Houston to NC to get a COVID shot. I wasn't having any luck even finding a list I could get signed up for in Texas. I got my first COVID shot, and I'm scheduled to get my second one in less than two weeks now. I'll fly from Houston to Asheville, NC, for $33 each way.

By the way, to get the $33 airline ticket from Houston to Asheville, NC, I used one of the techniques I describe in my recent book Secrets of Traveling on Social Security.

When I left Asheville, NC on this past Thursday morning, it was 19 degrees at the airport. As the plane was getting ready to land in Houston at about 10:00 a.m., the pilot came on said it was 71 degrees in Houston.

The plane landed in Houston, and I drove back to Galveston to my campsite. Everything was just as I left it. I turned the water back on and flipped the switch so my water heater would come back to life, and I was ready for life on the beach again.

I sure missed the warm weather. I saw a lot of snow while I was gone. Snow is not for me--my old bones like warm weather.

I'll make one more trip to NC to get my second COVID shot. (Hopefully, my return flight won't be canceled this time, and I won't have to stay for an extra week.)

Then I'll soon be headed to Costa Rica for four months. I'll be warm there, and I'm looking forward to the warm weather, the friendly people, and the laid back lifestyle. Living in Costa Rica is a lot less expensive than renting a campsite in the US.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a good read about the interesting and enjoyable life of an RVer traveling the roads of this country, I think you'll like my latest book.
