Start before you're ready
Starting before you're ready is the secret to making things happen.
If you're in charge of launching a rocket, you don't want to start before everything is ready, and if you're going to fly an airplane, you don't want to take off before your pre-flight is completed.
There's an old saying among pilots: "You had rather be on the ground wishing you were in the air than in the air wishing you were on the ground."
But for most other things, starting before you think you're ready is the best way to make things happen.
I'm sure I won't have everything taken care of to move to Costa Rica by January, but I'm going to go then anyway, and I'll go before then if I get my motorhome sold. I'll have to. I won't have a place to live.
Whether you're planning to start RVing full-time, write a book, visit (or move to) a foreign country, start a YouTube channel, create a website, or take on any other endeavor to make it happen, you need to start before you think you're ready.
What endeavor are you planning on doing as soon as you finish getting all the information you need and get everything ready?
Why not start now?
How many times have you thought or heard someone say, "I wish I had started this sooner?" Don't let this happen to you.
More training and preparation are helpful in some situations, but many things are put off way too long (or never started at all) because people think they're not ready to start. They feel like there are still things they need to do or questions they need answered before they can make the leap and start.
When the pain of where you are is greater than the pain of change, you're definitely ready to make a change, but why wait that long?
Bottom line: Little kids are flexible like rubber, and old people are stiff. This statement is true in more ways than one. Remember this comment and stay flexible.
P.S I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor this week, and she cleared me and said I was free to go run, jump, and play with the other kids. I still don't have all my stamina back, but I'm feeling fine. After one heck of an ordeal, I'm healthy again, and all is well in my world now.
