The secrets of RVers who are having the most fun

If you watch many YouTube videos, you might think all RVers have a lot of fun.

Of course, all RVers have fun, but most RVers have some stressful days mixed in with their fun. After all, things break, they get stuck in traffic jams, and expenses sometimes are way more than expected. These are just a few of the things that go wrong.

Contrary to what many people think, having a nice, more expensive rig doesn't mean you'll be happier or have more fun. From what I've observed, it seems that the people in the smaller and cheaper RVs have the most fun.

Who are the RVers that are having the most fun?

It looks like the girl in the picture at the top of the page is in a pop-up camper, but do you think she would be any happier if she were in a large, expensive Class A motorhome? The RVers who are having the most fun are the ones who are the most relaxed and stress-free.

They go with the flow, deal with problems as they come, and generally don't have many plans or expectations. They enjoy the journey as well as the destination.

Here are two examples of happy RVers

I would describe my recent neighbors as free-spirit, happy RVers. They were a young couple from PA. They had a two-year-old kid, and they had just started living the full-time RV lifestyle a few months ago. They were camped here next to me on the beach in Galveston, TX, and planned to stay here for a month.

But three days before Christmas, they decided they wanted to spend Christmas in New Orleans, LA, so they hit the road and went to New Orleans the next morning.

The RV that pulled into their space beside me was also a young couple. They had two kids. The kids look to be about six and seven years old. The family had been living full-time in their RV for a few years, but they decided they wanted to raise their kids in a neighborhood. So, they recently bought a house in a small town in Texas. They liked the town and decided it would be a good place to raise their kids.

They plan to keep their Class C RV and travel some from time to time. They said, "Who knows. We may go back to living full-time in our RV at some time."

These two couples are examples of happy RVers who live different lifestyles, change their plans from time to time, and are certainly relaxed and stress-free.

The best-selling book Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, and It's All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson was first published almost 25 years ago, and it's still popular today. The book wasn't about living in an RV, but it sure does describe how to be happy when you're living in an RV.

Bottom line: If you want to be happy and enjoy living the RV lifestyle in 2022 (whether full-time or part-time), learn to go with the flow, get the stress out of your life, and enjoy what RV life throws at you.
