Have you ever considered being a content creator and social media manager?

When you're making an income as a content creator, you have a location-independent source of income, and you can live anywhere. Some people think of content creation only in the sense of making videos, but writing is also content creation.

What does a content creator do?

There are a lot of ways you can make money as a content creator. Below are some to consider:

  • Have a YouTube channel.

  • Write books. (That's one of the things I do.)

  • Write a blog or have a subscription website.

  • Write and post content for other people's websites and social media pages.

  • Do freelance gig work. Use Fiverr.com or Upwork.com to get clients. You could do things such as design book covers, design images for YouTube videos, proofread, edit, or format books, edit YouTube videos, write ads for Amazon books, ghostwrite books, or create content for websites. You can learn any of these skills by watching YouTube videos or taking an inexpensive course using SkillShare.com.

  • Be a social media manager. Most small companies don't do a good job of managing their social media. For example, you could work for a restaurant (or several) and do weekly updates on their Facebook page showing the latest menu and entertainment schedule. Most restaurant owners/managers don't have the time or know how to do this. When their social media is managed properly, it will bring them a lot of extra business. Spending money on a social media manager could be a much better investment than more advertising.

    What about being a social media manager for a band? They need someone to constantly update their gig schedule, show where they'll be playing, provide information about their latest recordings, write and post personal interest stories about their members, etc.

    Note: You could be a social media manager for several restaurants (or other businesses), and they could be located anywhere in the world (and you could be anywhere in the world also).
