RVers get to carve their plans in Jell-O
If you're not changing your mind frequently, you might be missing out on some wonderful adventures.
Start with the attitude of, "I'm going to give this a try."
Then as soon as you decide that you don't like what you're doing or that you've had enough of something, quit and do something else.
Don't waste one precious minute of your time doing something after you've decided that it's not what you want to do.
That's one of the big advantages of living the RVing life.
I'm RVing and my plans are carved in Jell-O
Don't be ashamed of it. Be proud of the fact that you are now free to change your mind on a whim. It's okay to have shaky plans. It's even desirable.
I can still hear my grandmother saying, "Finish what you start." Maybe that's not always good advice. I remember a comedian pointing this out one time when he said that he was going to start finishing the things he started.
He said that there was half of a chocolate cake in the refrigerator that he was going to finish, and there was a third of a bottle of scotch in the cabinet that he was going to finish. I guess some of the things you start shouldn't be finished--at least, not immediately.
There are so many places to go and things to do. There's no way you can do everything or go everywhere.
Don't play it safe all the time--take some risks
You don't want to play it safe all the time. You want to take some risks and then quickly change course when you see that something is not working out the way you thought it would. Or maybe it worked great, but now you're tired of it. Either way, when you feel this way, do something else.
Several major companies give annual awards for the worst ideas or the biggest failures of the year. By showing employees that it's okay to fail, they encourage risk-taking. If you try very many new ideas and innovative options for things to do and ways to live, you are going to experience what some people might call failures.
Keep this quote in mind as you try different lifestyles.
Life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change. ~ Jim Rohn
Don't look at changing your mind about something as a failure
Give yourself an award for recognizing that what you're doing is not what you want to do, and then move on.As soon as you decide to make a change in your life, go out for a great dinner or splurge on a nice bottle of wine (or both) to celebrate. Celebrate the fact that you're closer to finding out what you want to do and how you want to live. Then, of course, make the change
Bottom line: Be proud of the fact that your plans are always carved in Jell-O and, therefore, they're shaky.
